[Machine] Marwan used to appoint him as his stand-in for prayer when he performed Hajj or Umrah, so he would lead the people in prayer. He would say the takbeer behind the rukoo' (bowing) and behind the sujood (prostration). When he finished, he would say, "Indeed, my prayer resembles your prayer led by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."  

أحمد:١٠٨٢١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَخْلِفُهُ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ إِذَا حَجَّ أَوْ اعْتَمَرَ فَيُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَيُكَبِّرُ خَلْفَ الرُّكُوعِ وَخَلْفَ السُّجُودِ فَإِذَا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَشْبَهُكُمْ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
