ahmad:10443 – Ibn Numayr > Ismāʿīl b. Abū Khālid from his father

[Machine] Abu Huraira used to pray in Medina, close to the prayer of Qais ibn Abi Hazim. So I said to him, "O Abu Huraira, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray like this?" He said, "Did you find fault in my prayer?" I said, "No, by Allah, I only wanted to ask you." He said, "Yes, and it is permissible."  

أحمد:١٠٤٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ يُصَلِّي بِالْمَدِينَةِ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاةِ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي؟ قُلْتُ لَا وَاللهِ إِلَّا خَيْرًا إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُأَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَأَجْوَزُ

[Machine] And he (Abu Huraira) said, while he was staying in Medina: I saw him (the Prophet) praying a prayer that was neither too short nor too long. Isma'il said it was similar to the prayer of Qays bin Abi Hazim. So I said to Abu Huraira, "Was this how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray?" He said, "Did you find fault with any of my prayers?" I said, "No, but I wanted to ask you." He said, "Yes, and he offered it concisely."

وَقَالَ وَكَانَ نَازِلًا عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً لَيْسَتْ بِالْخَفِيفَةِ وَلَا بِالطَّوِيلَةِ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاةِ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَهَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ خَيْرًا أَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ قَالَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَأَوْجَزَ
