[Machine] He used to carry bread in the socks and say, "Indeed, giving charity at night extinguishes the anger of the Lord."  

الزهد لأحمد:٩٢٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَحْمِلُ الْجِرَابَ فِيهِ الْخُبْزُ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ صَدَقَةَ اللَّيْلِ تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ ﷻ
