ahmad-zuhd:803ʿAbdullāh from my father > ʿUbaydullāh b. Muḥammad > Shaykh

[Machine] I heard a sheikh say, "O people, indeed I am an adviser to you. Indeed, I am sympathetic towards you. Pray in the darkness of the night for the loneliness of the graves. Fast in this worldly life for the heat of the Day of Resurrection. Give charity out of fear of a difficult day. O people, indeed I am an adviser to you. Indeed, I am sympathetic towards you."  

الزهد لأحمد:٨٠٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ شَيْخًا يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ كَانَ يَقُولُ يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ إِنِّي عَلَيْكُمْ شَفِيقٌ صَلُّوا فِي ظُلْمَةِ اللَّيْلِ لِوَحْشَةِ الْقُبُورِ وَصُومُوا الدُّنْيَا لِحَرِّ يَوْمِ النُّشُورِ وَتَصَدَّقُوا مَخَافَةَ يَوْمٍ عَسِيرٍ يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ إِنِّي عَلَيْكُمْ شَفِيقٌ
