الزهد لأحمد:٦٦٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ السَّائِبِ قَالَ رَكِبَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ دَابَّةً فَرَآهَا تُرَوِّثُ شَعِيرًا فَقَالَ

«يَأْكُلُ هَكَذَا وَالْمُسْلِمُونُ يَمُوتُونَ هَزْلًا لَا أَرْكَبُهَا حَتَّى يَحْيَى النَّاسُ»
