ahmad-zuhd:2210ʿAbdullāh from my father > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Ibn Jurayj

[Machine] There was a man named Ataa who, despite his old age and weakness, would stand up for prayer and recite two hundred verses from Surah Al-Baqarah without bending or moving.  

الزهد لأحمد:٢٢١٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ

«كَانَ عَطَاءٌ بَعْدَمَا كَبِرَ وَضَعُفَ يَقُومُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَيَقْرَأُ مِائَتَيْ آيَةٍ مِنَ الْبَقَرَةِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ مَا يَزُولُ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ وَلَا يَتَحَرَّكُ»
