[Machine] We used to go to Khaythamah, and then the night would come out to us from under the bed in it the scorpions and the centipedes, and he would say, "I did nothing but for you."  

الزهد لأحمد:٢١٤٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ

كُنَّا نَأْتِي خَيْثَمَةَ فَيَخْرُجُ إِلَيْنَا اللَّيْلَةَ مِنْ تَحْتِ السَّرِيرِ فِيهَا الْخَبِيصُ وَالْفَالَوْذَجُ فَيَقُولُ «مَا عَمِلْتُهُ إلَّا لَكُمْ»
