ahmad-zuhd:20ʿAbdullāh from my father > Muḥammad b. Yazīd al-Wāsiṭī > ʿAbdah b. Ayman > ʿAṭāʾ b. Abū Rabāḥ

[Machine] A man entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was reclining on a cushion with a plate in front of him, containing a loaf of bread. The man placed the bread on the ground and moved the cushion, saying, "I am only a servant, I eat as a servant eats and I sit as a servant sits."  

الزهد لأحمد:٢٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَيْمَنَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ قَالَ

دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ طَبَقٌ عَلَيْهِ رَغِيفٌ قَالَ فَوَضَعَ الرَّغِيفَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ وَنَحَّى الْوِسَادَةَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا أَنَا عَبْدٌ آكُلُ كَمَا يَأْكُلُ الْعَبْدُ وَأَجْلِسُ كَمَا يَجْلِسُ الْعَبْدُ»
