[Machine] I witnessed Al-Hasan, so I heard him when he became heavy, and he said, "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." He continued until he finished, then his son Abdullah fell upon him and said, "O my father, why do you complain? You have frightened us, so have you seen anything?" He said, "O my son, I complain to myself. I have never been afflicted with anything like it."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٦٤١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ الْحَسَنَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ حِينَ ثَقُلَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ قَالَ حَتَّى فَرَغَ قَالَ فَانْكَبَّ عَلَيْهِ ابْنُهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَ يَا أَبَتِ مَا لَكَ تَسْتَرْجِعُ فَقَدْ أَفْزَعْتَنَا فَهَلْ رَأَيْتَ شَيْئًا؟ فَقَالَ «يَا بُنَيَّ اسْتَرْجَعْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي إِنِّي لَمْ أُصَبْ بِمِثْلِهَا قَطُّ»
