ahmad-zuhd:1613ʿAbdullāh from my father > Aswad b. ʿĀmir > Jarīr b. Ḥāzim

[Machine] About the Sheikh, he did not eat and it was already midday. Al-Hasan rebuked him and said, "Leave him, for by Allah, if a man is from among the Muslims, he would visit his brother and they would converse and mention their Lord until his companion prevents him from doing so."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٦١٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ الْحَسَنِ فَقَالَ ابْنُهُ خَفِّفُوا

عَنِ الشَّيْخِ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَطْعَمْ وَقَدِ انْتَصَفَ النَّهَارُ فَانْتَهَرَهُ الْحَسَنُ وَقَالَ «مَهْ دَعْهُمْ فَوَاللَّهِ إِنْ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَيَزُورُ أَخَاهُ فَيَتَحَدَّثَانِ وَيَذْكُرَانِ رَبَّهُمَا حَتَّى يَمْنَعَهُ قَائِلَتَهُ»
