[Machine] "That they should feed them with food, in exchange for the favor of leaving that supplication for them for food? He said, their feeding is more beloved to me. So if he wishes, let him provide for them and say, 'I have given them food.' It was said to Sufyan, he says, 'I have dined,' meaning by his saying yesterday before that? He said, yes."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٦٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ بِشْرٍ بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْمُعَافَى عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَزُورُهُ إِخْوَانُهُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَيَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَعْلَمُوا صَوْمَهُ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّ

أَنْ يَطْعَمُوا عِنْدَهُ فِي أَيِّ ذَلِكَ الْفَضْلُ فِي تَرْكِ ذَلِكَ الدُّعَاءِ لَهُمْ بِالطَّعَامِ؟ قَالَ إِطْعَامُهُمْ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ فَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَقُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلْيَقُلْ قَدْ أَصَبْتُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ قَالَ وَقِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ يَقُولُ قَدْ تَغَدَّيْتُ يَعْنِي بِقَوْلِهِ أَمْسُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
