[Machine] Al-Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "And which one of us has reached this level, the desire of the devil, if it were to gain control over it, by Allah, if it were not for what Allah has bound the scholars with, we would not speak."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٢٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ لِأَحَدِ بَنِي الشِّخِّيرِ حَدِّثْنَا يَا غُلَامُ فَقَالَ إِنَّا لَمْ نَبْلُغْ هَذَا يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ

الْحَسَنُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ «وَأَيُّنَا بَلَغَ هَذَا وَدَّ الشَّيْطَانُ لَوْ تَمَكَّنَ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا مَا أَعْقَدَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْعُلَمَاءِ لَمْ نَنْطِقْ»
