[Machine] I heard Al-Hasan say, "By Allah, the Children of Israel indeed worshipped idols after their worship of the Most Merciful, due to their love for the world."

الزهد لأحمد:١٤٥٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَوْشَبٌ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ «وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَبَدَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ الْأَصْنَامَ بَعْدَ عِبَادَتِهِمْ الرَّحْمَنَ ﷻ بِحُبِّهِمُ الدُّنْيَا»
