[Machine] To be praised for something they did not do, O son of my brother, when the truth is presented to you, seek and stay away from anything other than that.  

الزهد لأحمد:١٣٠٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنْبَاعِ قَالَ كَانَ شَابٌّ يَمْشِي مَعَ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ فَمَرَّ بِمَنْزِلِهِ فَعَرَضَ عَلَيْهِ الشَّابُّ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي لَعَلَّكَ مِنَ الْعَارِضِينَ قَالَ يَا أَبَا بَحْرٍ وَمَا الْعَارِضُونَ؟ قَالَ «الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ

أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا يَا ابْنَ أَخِي إِذَا عَرَضَ لَكَ الْحَقُّ فَاقْصِدْ وَالْهُ عَمَّا سِوَى ذَلِكَ»
