[Machine] About Abu al-Sawwar, he said that they came to a town in Basra called Jundub, and he said, "I see good guidance and good character, so beware of these desires." Then he said, "The likeness of someone who teaches people but does not act like the likeness of a lantern that provides light to people but burns itself."  

الزهد لأحمد:١١٢٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْجَرِيرِيُّ

عَنْ أَبِي السَّوَّارِ أَنَّهُمْ أَتَوْا جُنْدُبًا فِي قُرَّاءِ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَرَى هَدْيًا حَسَنًا وَسَمْتًا حَسَنًا فَإِيَّاكُمْ وَهَذِهِ الْأَهْوَاءِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يَعْمَلُ كَمِثَالِ السِّرَاجِ يُضِيءُ لِلنَّاسِ وَيَحْرِقُ نَفْسَهُ
