[Machine] That a man in his chamber, giving dinars (coins) and another remembering Allah, the one remembering Allah was better. Abu Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal mentioned the death of his father, he said: "He left less than a dirham (currency) in pieces and said, 'Count it as a charity on my behalf.' I think that I have fulfilled my promise."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٠٣٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَبُو الْوَزَّاعِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ لَوْ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا فِي حِجْرِهِ دَنَانِيرُ يُعْطِيهَا وَآخَرَ ذَاكِرًا لِلَّهِ لَكَانَ الذَّاكِرُ أَفْضَلَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ وَذَكَرَ مَوْتَ أَبِيهِ قَالَ تَرَكَ أَقَلَّ مِنْ دِرْهَمٍ قِطْعَاتٍ وَقَالَ كَفِّرُوا بِهَا عَنِّي يَمِينًا أَظُنُّ أَنِّي قَدْ حَنِثْتُ
