Dua for increased Nur

adab:696ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAbdullāh > ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Muḥammad > ʿAbd al-Majīd b. Suhayl b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān > Yaḥyá b. ʿAbbād Abuu Hubayrah > Saʿīd b. Jubayr > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās

When the Prophet ﷺ would stand at night and pray, and when he had finished his prayer, he would praise Allah as He deserves, then among the last of his words would be:

allāhumma ijʿal lī nūrā fī qalbī, wa-ijʿal lī nūrā fī samʿī, wa-ijʿal lī nūran fī baṣarī, wa-ijʿal lī nūran ʿan yamīnī, wa-nūran ʿan shimālī, wa-ijʿal lī nūran min bayna yadayya, wa-nūran min khalfī, wa-zidnī nūran, wa-zidnī nūran, wa-zidnī nūran.

“O Allah, place for me light in my heart; and place for me light in my hearing; and place for me light in my sight; and place for me light on my right, and light on my left; and place for me light in front of me, and light behind me; and increase me in light, and increase me in light, and increase me in light.”
