Thabit al-Bannani reported that Anas ibn Malik walked by some children and greeted them. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ used to do that."

أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى صِبْيَانٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ بِهِمْ
