When I parted the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ I made a parting from the crow of his head and let his forelock hang between his eyes.  

أبو داود:٤١٨٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ كُنْتُ إِذَا أَرَدْتُ

أَنْ أَفْرِقَ رَأْسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَدَعْتُ الْفَرْقَ مِنْ يَافُوخِهِ وَأُرْسِلُ نَاصِيَتَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ
