tirmidhi:3826ʿAbdullāh b. Isḥāq al-Jawharī > Abū ʿĀṣim > ʿAbdullāh b. al-Muʾammal > Ibn Abū Mulaykah > ʿĀʾishah

from 'Aishah, that the Prophet ﷺ saw a lamp in the house of Az-Zubair, so he said: "O 'Aishah, I do not think except that Asma has given birth, so do not name him until I should name him." So he named him 'Abdullah, and he (performed Tahnik) with a date that was in his hand.  

الترمذي:٣٨٢٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُؤَمَّلِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى فِي بَيْتِ الزُّبَيْرِ مِصْبَاحًا فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا أُرَى أَسْمَاءَ إِلاَّ قَدْ نَفِسَتْ فَلاَ تُسَمُّوهُ حَتَّى أُسَمِّيَهُ فَسَمَّاهُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ وَحَنَّكَهُ بِتَمْرَةٍ بِيَدِهِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ
