tirmidhi:2192Maḥmūd b. Ghaylān > Abū Dāwud > Shuʿbah > Muʿāwiyah b. Qurrah from his father

When the people of Sham become corrupt, then there is no good in it for you. There will never cease to be a group in my Ummah who will be helped ˹by Allah˺, and they will not be harmed by those who forsake them until the Hour is established."

Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl said: ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī said: They are the people of Hadith. Abū ʿĪsa mentioned that in relation to this topic, there are narrations from ʿAbdullāh b. Ḥawālah, Ibn ʿUmar, Zayd b. Thābit, and ʿAbdullāh b. Amr. This is a Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ haith. Ahmad b. Manīʿ > Yazīd b. Hārūn > Bahz b. Ḥakīm from his father from his grandfather who said: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, where do you order me ˹to be˺?" He said: "Here," and pointed with his hand towards Sham." Abū ʿĪsā said this is a Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ hadith.
