13.37 The prohibition of pointing with two fingers and with which finger one should point

١٣۔٣٧ باب النَّهْىِ عَنِ الإِشَارَةِ، بِأُصْبُعَيْنِ وَبِأَىِّ أُصْبُعٍ يُشِيرُ

nasai:1272 – Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Ṣafwān b. ʿĪsá > Ibn ʿAjlān > al-Qaʿqāʿ > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

A man used to supplicate with two fingers and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Make it one, make it one."  

النسائي:١٢٧٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلاَنَ عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلاً كَانَ يَدْعُو بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ فَقَالَ

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَحِّدْ أَحِّدْ  

nasai:1273 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mubārak al-Mukharrimī > Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Saʿd

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me when I was supplicating with my fingers and he said: 'Make it one, make it one' and pointed with his forefinger."  

النسائي:١٢٧٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

مَرَّ عَلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَدْعُو بِأَصَابِعِي فَقَالَ أَحِّدْ أَحِّدْ وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ
