[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not believe in superstitions, but when he asked about someone's name, he would receive good news by the appearance on his face, and if the person had a bad name, it would also be reflected on his face. Similarly, when he asked about the name of a land, he would receive good news if the land was good, and bad news if the land was bad.  

الكبرى للنسائي:٨٧٧١أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ قَالَ

«مَا كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَطَيَّرُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَلَكِنْ كَانَ إِذَا سَأَلَ عَنِ اسْمِ الرَّجُلِ فَكَانَ حَسَنًا رُئِيَ الْبِشَارَةُ فِي وَجْهِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ سَيِّئًا رُئِيَ ذَلِكَ فِيهِ وَإِذَا سَأَلَ عَنِ اسْمِ الْأَرْضِ فَكَانَ حَسَنًا رُئِيَ الْبِشَارَةُ فِي وَجْهِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ سَيِّئًا رُئِيَ ذَلِكَ فِيهِ»
