[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah said, 'Every deed of the son of Adam is for himself, except for fasting. It is for Me and I will reward it. Fasting is a shield, so if one of you is fasting, let him not indulge in obscene language or raise his voice in anger. If someone insults him or fights with him, let him say, 'I am fasting.' By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell coming from the mouth of a fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.' " Abu 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mubarak said, "Indeed, the status of fasting with us is greater and higher than that of Hajj. The hadith of Hajj is more reliable to us. In the time of Ibn al-Mubarak, we do not know of a person more reliable than him or higher in rank than him in every commendable trait. However, mistakes are inevitable." 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi, who was trying to absolve himself from error, said, "Who does not make mistakes? Correctness is like a speck of dust in the wind, while error is thick like molasses." This hadith has also been narrated by Abu Huraira and Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib.
