Warning against sitting on graves

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is better for one of you to sit on a live coal that burns his clothes and reaches his skin than to sit on a grave."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «لَأَنْ يَجْلِسَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى جَمْرَةٍ، فَتُحْرِقَ ثِيَابَهُ، فَتَخْلُصَ إِلَى جِلْدِهِ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ عَلَى قَبْرٍ»

A hadith like this has been narrated by Suhail with the same chain of transmitters.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ ح وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ

Do not sit on the graves and do not pray facing towards them.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَجْلِسُوا عَلَى الْقُبُورِ وَلاَ تُصَلُّوا إِلَيْهَا

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ تُصَلُّوا إِلَى الْقُبُورِ وَلاَ تَجْلِسُوا عَلَيْهَا
