[Machine] "People came and asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a companion of theirs whom they wished to accuse. He remained silent. They asked him thrice, and he remained silent. He disliked their inquiry."  

ابن حبّان:٦٠٨٢أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْأَحْوَصِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

«جَاءَ نَاسٌ فَسَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَكْوُوهُ فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ ثَلَاثًا فَسَكَتَ وَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ» *
