[Machine] Ghaylan bin Salamah al-Thaqafi embraced Islam, and he had ten wives. "So the Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded him to keep four of them." This is narrated by the early companions of Sa'id bin Zurai' and Ismail bin 'Ulayyah and Ghundar and the Imams of the Hafiz from the people of Basrah. Imam Muslim bin al-Hajjaj ruled that "this hadith is one of the fabrications by Ma'mar in Basrah." However, if it is narrated from him by trustworthy individuals outside of Basrah, we consider it authentic. I found Sufyan al-Thawri and Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad al-Muharibi and Isa bin Yunus, all of them being from Kufa, narrating it from Ma'mar.
