bukhari:6613 – al-Ḥumaydī > Sufyān > ʿAmr > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās And Mā Jaʿalnā al-Ruʾyā al--Atī Araynāk Ilā Fitnah Lilnnās

(regarding the Verse) "And We granted the vision (Ascension to the heavens "Miraj") which We showed you (O Muhammad as an actual eye witness) but as a trial for mankind.' (17.60): Allah's Apostle actually saw with his own eyes the vision (all the things which were shown to him) on the night of his Night Journey to Jerusalem (and then to the heavens). The cursed tree which is mentioned in the Qur'an is the tree of Az-Zaqqum.  

البخاري:٦٦١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ {وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلاَّ فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ} قَالَ

هِيَ رُؤْيَا عَيْنٍ أُرِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ {وَالشَّجَرَةَ الْمَلْعُونَةَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ} قَالَ هِيَ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ

Regarding the Statement of Allah" "And We granted the vision (Ascension to the heavens) which We made you see (as an actual eye witness) was only made as a trial for the people." (17.60) Ibn ʿAbbas added: The sights which Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shown on the Night Journey when he was taken to Bait-ulMaqdis (i.e. Jerusalem) were actual sights, (not dreams). And the Cursed Tree (mentioned) in the Qur'an is the tree of Zaqqum (itself) .

Regarding: 'And We granted the vision (Ascension to the Heaven "Miraj") which We showed you (O Muhammad as an actual eye witness) but as a trial for mankind.' (17.60) It was an actual eyewitness which was shown to Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the night he was taken on a journey (through the heavens). And the cursed tree is the tree of Az-Zaqqum (a bitter pungent tree which grows at the bottom of Hell).  

البخاري:٤٧١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ {وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلاَّ فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ} قَالَ

هِيَ رُؤْيَا عَيْنٍ أُرِيَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ {وَالشَّجَرَةَ الْمَلْعُونَةَ} شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ  

tirmidhi:3134 – Ibn Abū ʿUmar > Sufyān > ʿAmr b. Dīnār > ʿIkrimah

And We made not the vision which We showed but a trial for mankind (17:60). He said: "It is the vision he saw with his eyes, on the night the Prophet ﷺ was taken on the journey to Bait Al-Maqdis. And the accursed tree in the Qur'an (17:60). He said: "It is the Zaqqum tree."  

الترمذي:٣١٣٤ – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

فِي قَوْلِهِ ( ومَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلاَّ فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ ) قَالَ هِيَ رُؤْيَا عَيْنٍ أُرِيَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ قَالَ (وَالشَّجَرَةَ الْمَلْعُونَةَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ ) هِيَ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
