5. Ghusl (Major Ablution/Bathing)

5.14 Whoever scented himself and then took a bath while the effect of scent remained even after bathing

bukhari:270Abū al-Nuʿmān > Abū ʿAwānah > Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad b. al-Muntashir from his father > Saʾalt ʿĀʾishah Fadhakart Lahā Qawl Ibn ʿUmar Mā Uḥib > Uṣbiḥ Muḥrim Anḍakh Ṭīb > ʿĀʾishah

I asked ʿAisha about the saying of Ibn ʿUmar (i.e. he did not like to be a Muhrim while the smell of scent was still coming from his body). ʿAisha said, "I scented Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he went round (had sexual intercourse with) all his wives, and in the morning he was Muhrim (after taking a bath)."

bukhari:271Ādam > Shuʿbah > al-Ḥakam > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

It is as if I am just looking at the glitter of scent in the parting of the Prophet's head hair while he was a Muhrim.
