bayhaqi:5418Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad al-Muqriʾ > al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq > Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb al-Qāḍī > Abū Mūsá > Muḥammad b. ʿUbayd al-Ṭanāfisī > al-Aʿmash > al-Musayyab b. Rāfiʿ > ʿAlī b. Mudrik > Raʾayt Abū Ayyūb Nazaʿ Khuffayh Fanaẓarūā Ilayh

[Machine] As for me, I have indeed seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over them, but I have been inclined towards performing ablution. This is what Muhammad ibn Ubaid ibn Mudrik said, and he is not a strong transmitter. Shu'bah narrated from him, but the correct statement is that of Ali ibn Salit, and Allah knows best. We have also narrated it in the book of purification from the hadith of Aflah, the freed slave of Abu Ayyub, from Abu Ayyub.
