[Machine] "Shall I not inform you about Witr (an odd-numbered prayer)? I said: Yes. So he stood and performed a single rakah (unit of prayer) and then went into Rukoo' (bowing)."  

البيهقي:٤٧٩٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ فَقَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَرْحُومُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَطَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَسَلُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ قَالَ

صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ الْوِتْرَ؟ قُلْتُ بَلَى فَقَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَةً
