[Machine] "So there is no harm in this, and according to the saying of Imam Shafi'i in the old times, it is understood to be based on the obligatory recitation. Imam Shafi'i said that it is not mentioned that he prostrated for inadvertence or did not count the prayer. He only did that between the afternoon of the Muhajireen and the Ansar. The scholar, may Allah have mercy on him, said that it is understood among us based on the recitation of the Surah or on the secrets with the recitation of what he should have recited aloud. It has been narrated from Umar that he repeated it, and that is mentioned in the chapter of the least that is sufficient, if Allah wills."  

البيهقي:٣٨٦٢أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ أنبأ أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ نُجَيْدٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ الْمَغْرِبَ فَلَمْ يَقْرَأْ فِيهَا فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قِيلَ لَهُ مَا قَرَأْتَ قَالَ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ الرُّكُوعُ وَالسُّجُودُ؟ قَالُوا حَسَنًا قَالَ

فَلَا بَأْسَ إِذًا وَهَذَا عَلَى قَوْلِ الشَّافِعِيِّ فِي الْقَدِيمِ مَحْمُولٌ عَلَى الْقِرَاءَةِ الْوَاجِبَةِ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ وَلَمْ يُذْكَرْ أَنَّهُ سَجَدَ لِلسَّهْوِ وَلَمْ يُعِدِ الصَّلَاةَ فَإِنَّمَا فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ بَيْنَ ظَهْرِي الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ وَهُوَ مَحْمُولٌ عِنْدَنَا عَلَى قِرَاءَةِ السُّورَةِ أَوْ عَلَى الْإِسْرَارِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ فِيمَا كَانَ يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَجْهَرَ بِهَا ثُمَّ قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ أَعَادَهَا وَذَلِكَ يَرِدُ فِي بَابِ أَقَلِّ مَا يُجْزِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالَى
