[Machine] I heard Abu Humaid Al-Sa'idi speaking about ten companions of the Prophet ﷺ among them Abu Qatada. Abu Humaid said, "I know the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ very well," and then he mentioned the hadith in detail until he reached the part where, during the prostration, the one who offers the prayer extends his left leg and sits on his left hip. They all said, "Yes, this is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray," and this narration specifically refers to the final Tashahhud, but it does not mention the sitting posture in the first Tashahhud. Both Ibn Halhala and Muhammad bin Amr have preserved this narration. With the help of Allah, and as for the hadith of Abu Al-Jawzah from Aisha regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he used to say the greetings in both units of prayer and he used to extend his left leg and keep his right leg upright. He used to discourage placing one foot over the other, and the hadith of Wail bin Hujr in the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ where he sat and extended his left leg, one of them is mentioned in the final Tashahhud and the other is mentioned in the first Tashahhud, relying on the Hadith of Abu Humaid Al-Sa'idi and his companions.  

البيهقي:٢٧٧٥وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَزَّازُ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ فِي عَشَرَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِيهِمْ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ قَالَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ أَنَا أَعْلَمُكُمْ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَفِيهِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي السَّجْدَةِ الَّتِي فِيهَا التَّسْلِيمُ أَخَّرَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى فَقَعَدَ مُتَوَرِّكًا عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْسَرِ فَقَالُوا جَمِيعًا صَدَقَ هَكَذَا كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهَذَا فِي التَّشَهُّدِ الْأَخِيرِ نَصًّا وَلَيْسَ فِي هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ كَيْفِيَّةُ الْجُلُوسِ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ الْأَوَّلِ وَقَدْ حَفِظِهُمَا جَمِيعًا ابْنُ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَلَى مَا مَضَى وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ فِي صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ التَّحِيَّةَ وَكَانَ يَفْرِشُ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَيَنْصِبُ رِجْلَهُ الْيُمْنَى وَكَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْ عَقِبِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَحَدِيثُ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ فِي صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ فَافْتَرَشَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى فَأَحَدُهُمَا وَارِدٌ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ الْآخِرِ وَالثَّانِي وَارِادٌ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ الْأَوَّلِ بِالِاسْتِدْلَالِ بِحَدِيثِ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ وَأَصْحَابِهِ
