[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray the Asr prayer while the sun was still high. Then, the one who wanted to go to Al-Awali would go and when they arrived, the sun was still high. Some of the Awali were located four miles away from the city.  

البيهقي:٢٠٧٥وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أنبأ شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي فَيَأْتِيهَا وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ وَبَعْضُ الْعَوَالِي مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ أَمْيَالٍ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي الْيَمَانِ وَقَالَ وَبَعْضُ الْعَوَالِي مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَرْبَعَةُ أَمْيَالٍ وَنَحْوِهِ وَهَذَا مِنْ قَوْلِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ذَكَرَهُ مَعْمَرٌ عَنْهُ مِنْ قَوْلِهِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer the ʿAsr prayer at a time when the sun was still hot and high and if a person went to Al-ʿAwali (a place) of Medina, he would reach there when the sun was still high. Some of Al-ʿAwali of Medina were about four miles or so from the town.

Some of the outskirts were four miles or three miles away from the city. Al-Bukhari added that Al-Laith narrated from Yunus that the distance of the outskirts was four miles or three miles.
