[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever is called by my name should not withhold their nickname, and whoever is given my nickname should not call themselves by my name.' This was also narrated from another perspective by Abu Hurairah, and there is disagreement on this matter. The narrations prohibiting it altogether are more numerous and more authentic, and Allah knows best."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَسَمَّى بِاسْمِي فَلَا يَكْتَنِي بِكُنْيَتِي وَمَنْ تَكَنَّى بِكُنْيَتِي فَلَا يَتَسَمَّى بِاسْمِي وَرُوِيَ ذَلِكَ أَيْضًا مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ وَاخْتُلِفَ عَلَيْهِ فِيهَا وَأَحَادِيثُ النَّهْيِ عَلَى الْإِطْلَاقِ أَكْثَرُ وَأَصَحُّ طَرِيقًا وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
