[Machine] A boy was born to one of us and he named him after the Prophet ﷺ. They said, "Let us not nickname him until we ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He said, "Name him after me and do not use my title."  

البيهقي:١٩٣٢٣أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا خَالِدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا حُصَيْنٌ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ قَالَ

وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَّا غُلَامٌ فَسَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا لَا نُكَنِّيهِ حَتَّى نَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَقَالَ سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُسَدَّدٍ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ خَالِدٍ وَبِهَذَا الْمَعْنَى رَوَاهُ عَبْثَرٌ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ

A man among us begot a boy whom he named Al-Qasim. The people said, "We will not call him (i.e., the father) by that Kuniya (Abu-l-Qasim) till we ask the Prophet ﷺ about it. The Prophet ﷺ said. "Name yourselves by my name, but do not call (yourselves) by my Kuniya."
