[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and pledged allegiance to him on Islam, and he mentioned a long hadith. He said, "When the call to Fajr prayer was made, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to give the call to prayer. I began saying, 'Establish the prayer, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked towards the direction of the east until dawn and said, 'No, not until the dawn rises.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came down, and his companions followed him. He said, 'Do you have any water, O Suda'?" I said, 'There is just a little bit, it is not enough for you.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Put it in a container and bring it to me.' So I did that, and he placed his hand in the water. Suda'i said, 'I saw a spring gushing forth between two of his fingers.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'If it were not for the fact that I am shy of my Lord, we would have drawn water, called our companions, and whoever had a need for water would come and take it.' So I called out to them, and whoever wanted some water would take it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Prepare for prayer.' Bilal wanted to give the call to prayer, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'It is Suda'i who gave the call, and whoever gives the call should also lead the prayer.' So I led the prayer."  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَبَايَعْتُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا قَالَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ أَذَانُ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ أَمَرَنِي فَأَذَّنْتُ فَجَعَلْتُ أَقُولُ أُقِيمُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى نَاحِيَةِ الْمَشْرِقِ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ فَيَقُولُ لَا حَتَّى إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَتَبَرَّزَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ إِلِيَّ وَقَدْ تَلَاحَقَ أَصْحَابُهُ قَالَ هَلْ مِنْ مَاءٍ يَا أَخَا صُدَاءٍ؟ فَقُلْتُ لَا إِلَّا شَيْءٌ قَلِيلٌ لَا يَكْفِيكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اجْعَلْهُ فِي إِنَاءٍ ثُمَّ ائْتِنِي بِهِ فَفَعَلْتُ فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ فِي الْمَاءِ قَالَ الصُّدَائِيُّ فَرَأَيْتُ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِهِ عَيْنًا تَفُورُ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْلَا أَنِّي أَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ رَبِّي لَسَقَيْنَا وَأَسْقَيْنَا نَادِ بِأَصْحَابِي مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ فِي الْمَاءِ فَنَادَيْتُ فِيهِمْ فَأَخَذَ مَنْ أَرَادَ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَأَرَادَ بِلَالٌ أَنْ يُقِيمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَخَا صُدَاءٍ هُوَ أَذَّنَ وَمَنْ أَذَّنَ فَهُوَ يُقِيمُ قَالَ الصُّدَائِيُّ فَأَقَمْتُ الصَّلَاةَ
