Umar's vision before he was stabbed

ahmad:363Ḥajjāj > Shuʿbah > Abū Jamrah al-Ḍubaʿī > Juwayriyah b. Qudāmah

[AI] I performed Hajj and came to Madinah in the year in which Umar was struck. He said: He delivered a sermon and said, "I saw as if a red rooster pecked me once or twice"—Shubah was uncertain. He remained only until Friday, then he was stabbed. Then he mentioned something similar, except that he said, "And I counsel you concerning the people under your protection, for they are the covenant of your Prophet." Shubah said: Then I asked him after that, and he said about the Bedouins, "And I counsel you concerning the Bedouins, for they are your brothers and the enemy of your enemy."
