I am afraid it may not be muzza from which(the people of) ‘Abd al-Qais were prohibited. I asked Qatadah : What is muzza’? He replied: Drink of dates made in a green jar and vessels smeared with pitch.

أبو داود:٣٧٠٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَعِكْرِمَةَ أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا يَكْرَهَانِ الْبُسْرَ وَحْدَهُ وَيَأْخُذَانِ ذَلِكَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْشَى

أَنْ يَكُونَ الْمُزَّاءَ الَّذِي نُهِيَتْ عَنْهُ عَبْدُ الْقَيْسِ فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ مَا الْمُزَّاءُ قَالَ النَّبِيذُ فِي الْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ
