The Prophet ﷺ prayed over the martyrs of Uhud after eight years like a man who bids farewell to the living and dead.  

أبو داود:٣٢٢٤حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ بَعْدَ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ كَالْمُوَدِّعِ لِلأَحْيَاءِ وَالأَمْوَاتِ
