The Prophet ﷺ appointed a sixth to a grandmother if no mother is left to inherit before her.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَعَلَ لِلْجَدَّةِ السُّدُسَ إِذَا لَمْ تَكُنْ دُونَهَا أُمٌّ
