'Umar b. al-Khattab saw a suit of silken cloth being sold in the market. He took it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and said: Purchase it ad decorate with it on 'id on the occasion of the arrival of delegations. The narrator then narrated the tradition. The former version is complete.  

أبو داود:١٠٧٧حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

وَجَدَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ حُلَّةَ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ تُبَاعُ بِالسُّوقِ فَأَخَذَهَا فَأَتَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ ابْتَعْ هَذِهِ تَجَمَّلْ بِهَا لِلْعِيدِ وَلِلْوَفْدِ ثُمَّ سَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ وَالأَوَّلُ أَتَمُّ
