Angels surround gatherings of Allah’s remembrance and mercy descends upon them

I bear witness concerning Abu Hurayrah and Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri that they both testified about the Prophet ﷺ that he said: “No people sit remembering Allah, the Exalted, except that the angels surround them, mercy envelops them, tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them among those who are with Him.”

أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّهُمَا شَهِدَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لاَ يَقْعُدُ قَوْمٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ ﷻ إِلاَّ حَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ، وَغَشِيَتْهُمُ الرَّحْمَةُ، وَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّكِينَةُ، وَذَكَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ».
